Posting
How often should a restaurant post?
October 28, 2026 · 5 min read
Post 2 to 4 short videos a week, and keep it going every week. Steady matters more than a lot. Three posts a week for three months will do more for you than twenty posts in one week and then nothing for a month. You can post the same video to Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook.
Why steady beats a burst
Apps show your posts to people nearby a little at a time. Each post is another chance to be seen by someone deciding where to eat tonight.
Regulars also notice. When your account goes quiet for weeks, it can look like the restaurant is slow, or closed.
Simple weekly plans
| Videos a month | About how often | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| 8 | 2 a week | A first step, or a small menu |
| 16 | 4 a week | Most independent restaurants |
| 30 | About 1 a day | Busy spots, big menus, frequent specials |
One video, four apps
You do not need different videos for each app. A short vertical video works on Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook. Change the caption a little if you like, but the video can be the same.
What to post when you run out of ideas

- Your best selling dish, made from start to finish.
- A close up: the pour, the sizzle, the first cut.
- The person who makes it, saying one thing they love about it.
- This week's special, with the price and the last day.
- Your room at its best hour, so people know what to expect.
Make it easy to keep going
- 1Film a whole month in one block, not a little every day.
- 2Pick your posting days once and stick to them.
- 3Schedule posts ahead so a busy night does not stop them.
- 4Look at what did best once a month and make more like it.
Questions owners ask
Is posting every day too much for a restaurant?
Not if the videos are good. Daily posting works for busy restaurants with lots to show. For most places, 2 to 4 good videos a week is enough to stay seen.
Should I post the same video on TikTok and Instagram?
Yes. The same short vertical video works on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook. That is how most restaurants keep up without extra work.
What time should a restaurant post?
Post a few hours before people decide where to eat: late morning for lunch, mid afternoon for dinner. Then check your own numbers, since every area is a little different.
The short version
Post 2 to 4 short videos a week and keep it steady. Use the same video on every app, film in batches, and schedule ahead so posting never depends on a slow afternoon.
